r.i.p. captain

Megan's dad passed away around 3pm today. He had learned in mid-December that he had pancreatic cancer and nearly passed away over the holidays. He rallied and was eventually able to come home two weeks ago. He was very happy to be home and seemed to be very strong. We were starting to believe he’d surpass the 1-2 months that doctors estimated he had left and possibly stick around beyond May when his next grandchild is due to arrive. But yesterday he took a sudden turn for the worse and Megan and her brother Dylan sat with him nearly all day today. He was a great man who will be greatly missed.
